More than 300 people are initiated in cardiopulmonary reanimation and First Aid in Cordoba
A workshop brings the population closer to the culture of rescue and shows how an Advanced Command Post operates
More than three hundred people have been initiated this Saturday in Cordoba in cardiopulmonary reanimation (CPR) and First Aid through a free public workshop promoted by the Royal Spanish Federation of Rescue and Lifesaving to bring citizens closer to the culture of rescue.
The activity, organized in the Plaza de las Tendillas, has had the deployment of an Advanced Command Post (PMA) of the Emergency Unit of Andalusia (GREA) to publicize this device of the Junta de Andalucía, which is activated for prevention and planning, coordination and collaboration and logistical tasks in emergencies that occur in Andalusia.
The workshop, which the Royal Spanish Federation of Rescue and Lifesaving develops within the framework of its collaboration with the City Council of Cordoba, has had people of all ages.
Some have been exercised in CPR exercises, others in the Heimlich technique, aimed at airway clearance for choking, in both cases in adults and children, while specific groups have also been formed for action with infants.
Throughout the morning, instructors and lifeguards of the Royal Spanish Federation of Rescue and Lifeguarding framed in the Salvasur Sports Club, reference of rescue and lifeguarding in Andalusia, have attended to the citizens of Cordoba that has been able to access the training in CPR and first aid.
The workshop has been visited by the first Deputy Mayor of the City of Cordoba, Blanca Torrent, the municipal delegate of Culture and Historical Heritage, Isabel Albás, and the head of Civil Protection Service of the Andalusian Government in Cordoba, Pilar Vinuesa.
This workshop is the first of the activities that the Royal Spanish Federation of Rescue and Lifesaving has scheduled for this month in Cordoba.
Next Friday will take place a day on the prevention of drowning in the aquatic medium for students of the IES Galileo Galilei, in which the Junta de Andalucía will also collaborate, and the following Saturday the second edition of the International Seminar on Drowning Prevention (SIPA) will be celebrated, with the presence of speakers from Spain, Albania, Italy and Portugal.
These activities are framed within the celebration in the city in October 2024 of the fourth edition of the International Congress on Drowning Prevention (CIPREA).
