The fourth edition of the International Congress on Drowning Prevention (CIPREA) will be celebrated in Cordoba in 2024
The most important conference in Europe and the second most important in the world will be repeated for the first time after the 2021 edition
The fourth edition of the International Congress on Drowning Prevention (CIPREA) will be celebrated in Cordoba between 18 and 20 October 2024.
This was announced by Isabel García Sanz, president of the Royal Spanish Lifesaving and Rescue Federation, the organiser, at its General Assembly, where she stressed that the promotion of the event will begin this weekend during the meeting that the European Lifesaving Federation (ILSE) is holding in Poland.
The CIPREA24 will take place three years after the previous edition, which also took place in Cordoba, between 15 and 17 October last year, so as not to coincide with that of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS), scheduled for 2023.
The event organised by the Royal Spanish Lifesaving and Rescue Federation is the most important one held in Europe and Latin America and the second in the world, after the one organised by the ILS, the World Congress on Drowning Prevention (WCDP), the first edition of which took place in 2002.
Cordoba is the first city to repeat its hosting after the editions held in Motril -Granada- (2016) and Benalmádena -Málaga- (2018) and the capital of Cordoba itself (2021), postponed in this case due to the pandemic, as it was originally scheduled for October 2020.
Isabel García Sanz underlined before the Federation’s General Assembly that the decision to hold the Congress in Cordoba again is the result of the connections generated with the city and the province.
The promotion of the CIPREA24 will initially be done in Spanish and English and in a few days a bilingual website will also be activated which, like the previous edition, will highlight the attractive features of Cordoba as a destination for congress tourism.
In the last quarter of the year, the Royal Spanish Lifesaving and Rescue Federation will also hold a national conference on drowning prevention in the Cordoba capital.11.06.2022.
