The deadline for registration and communications for the fourth edition of the International Congress on Drowning Prevention is now open

The main European conference on safety in aquatic spaces will be held between 18 and 20 October in Cordoba

The fourth edition of the International Congress on Drowning Prevention (CIPREA) has opened the registration and submission of papers for what is the main national forum on safety in aquatic spaces and one of the most important worldwide, which will take place between 18 and 20 October in Cordoba.

The #CIPREA2024, whose main venue will be the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Córdoba, is structured around nine thematic areas: prevention, statistics, education and sport, rescue, health, natural disasters, migrants and refugees, innovations and labour.

The Congress is aimed at people interested in improving the prevention of drowning in aquatic spaces, including lifeguards, technical staff involved in activities in the aquatic medium (rescue and lifeguarding, swimming, diving, etc.), TAFADs, TESEAs, graduates and graduates in Physical Education, health personnel (doctors, nurses, emergency technical staff, etc.), safety personnel in the aquatic medium, etc., and people involved in the prevention of drowning. ), security personnel in the aquatic medium (UME, Navy, Firefighters and State Security Forces), NGO or research personnel, teaching staff and students of these branches, disciplines and specialities, among others.

Submission of papers and posters

The process for the submission of abstracts and posters is open until 31 May, using the form available at the link https://ciprea.rfess.es/en/communications-and-posters/. Abstracts will be accepted until 15 June.

The first edition of the CIPREA took place in October 2016 in Motril (Granada) with the presence of more than 130 specialists and professionals. The second edition took place in the same month in 2018 in Benalmádena (Málaga), with the participation of more than 200 experts from 16 countries.

Cordoba’s commitment

The third was held in Cordoba in October 2021, which brought together more than 400 people, including experts from more than twenty countries.

The fact that it will be held again in Cordoba is due to the city council’s commitment to maintaining the city as an international reference in the field of drowning prevention.

Along these lines, a National Drowning Prevention Conference was held in 2022 and the second edition of the International Drowning Prevention Seminar (SIPA) was held last October, with the presence of specialists from Italy, Portugal, Albania and Spain.
